Dental Insurance (VENT)

Dental Insurance (VENT)

Why is so much money taken out of FH's check for dental when they dont want to cover anything. I had my wisdom teeth out a few weeks ago, had to pay a 200 dollar copay, and now they called saying insurance doesnt wanna cover it. So what does it cover?! Just cleaning???? Seriously, why even bother having dental insurance. Do they think I wanted my wisomd teeth out for fun??!! Ugh this system is so screwed up.

I completely feel you---I have horrible teeth inherited from my parents and I could brush with toothpaste and floss and mouthwash or I could brush with sugar and I would get the same result
I have paid over 6k in dental bills tthe last 2 years--so glad I pay insurance.

It really stinks. They dont cover A LOT of things. I think Im gonna tell FH to just get rid of it. Theres really no point. They tell him he needs a crown so his tooth wont shatter and then they say its cosmetic so its not covered. How is it cosmetic if his tooth is in jeopardy of shattering??

Does your medical insurance cover a surgical procedure? When our Son had his wisdom teeth removed, because it was 'surgical', our medical insurance covered it; Sad to say, my husband's boss doesn't provide dental insurance, and I think dental insurance should be part of a medical package, because, one's teeth affect one's health, ie. it's been said that teeth issues can lead to heart attack. Did you submit it to your medical insurance, not the dental insurance? Mary

Yes, try and submit it through your health insurance not your dental

What kind of plan do you have?? Is it CIGNA? or maybe AETNA?

I just had a wisdom tooth pulled yesterday. It went through my medical, not dental, and I had to pay $145 myself. It does suck!
