Dentist VENT! Sorry long!!!
I know this has nothing to do with weddings but had to vent!!! If anyone knows a good dentist in NYC, please let me know..I need to find a new one....!!!!
long story short!!!
My dentist has been hounding me for like 2+ years to get my filling redone. My lower tooth had sensitivity so finally I caved....So yesterday I went in and to my surprise she said I had to get the 'upper filling' redone as well. She pretty much cornered me and said, 'why don't you make another appointment to get the 2nd one done?' I guess since I was nervous about the whole procedure I didn't think to ask how much each filling would be. (I have insurance but didn't ask how much it would cover). I guess in my nervousness all these normal questions didn't come into my head. So I said, 'Well I rather get both procedures done in one shot then.'
So today I call the office (in the right frame of mind and asked 'How much is each filling?' $250!! And my insurance only pays 50%!!! So I told them I was unhappy that I felt that 'the dentist tricked me into getting the 2nd (unnecessary one!).
Just before the dentist office called me and said, 'We checked with the dentist and her assistant and they confirmed that YOU wanted TWO PROCEDURES DONE.' I was LIVID!! Why would I want 'TWO procedures done unless I was told I had to?' I felt like they manipulated me into the corner and when she said that it was totally out of context. First of all, I didnt request for TWO, the doctor asked if I wanted to come back for another and since I HATe going to the dentist, I wanted to just get all of it over with!!!
I'm sure there are lots of nice dentists out there but I really felt like this one manipulated me!
