Okay I am starting to want to book and i really want to know how much people put down as a deposit. I am not comftable with what the deposit that is required at our chosen spot but maybe i am just inpracticle.
any info will be great!

We left $1000 -- thats what was required. Basically, I'd leave whatever they require, or else i wouldnt be too sure I was securing that date.

Every place we went to only asked for $1000 - we visited 17 RH.

Wow see i can do that right now its the fact they want 1,000 down and 1,000 every two months for a 5,000 deposit total.. like a payment plan. I am not comftable with my wedding being a year and five months away.
My father wants to go down with us even though my parents were not involved at all with doing anything with my FH and I's wedding. He thinks he can talk the guy down, but its in all the RH paper work

Let me correct myself. The initial deposit was only $1000 in order to hold the date. Then another $5000 over the next 6 months.

$3,500 to hold the date, 1/2 the total approximate bill 4 months prior and the rest 2 weeks prior.

okay so i can tell my parents to shut up and its normal and not to freak out.. it still hurts but i guess it will be easier to pay it off bimonthly instead of one big ouchie payment in the end.

We had to leave $1000 to book the hall / secure the date.
They wanted a payment plan with payments every month. Since our wedding was also about a year and 5 months they were will to accept payments every 2 months instead.
In the end we will have left $5000 by the time our wedding is 11 months away.

Thats what we had to do ($1000 up front and then $1000 every other month for 5 or 6 months).

We had to put down a $1000 deposit and $1000 payments every few months so that half is paid by February of '08 and the rest due a week before.

WE booked our wedding two years in advance and had to leave a $500 deposit and then over the following 12 months pay 9K.....it all depends on the hall and the amount of ppl. you are having and of course the cost.
