does anyone know what percentaage you have to put down to book a photographer? i am making my first meeting and jsut wondering just how much they may ask me to leave for a deposit? thanks

I think it varies by photographer. Ours wanted 1/3 down but I was able to negotiate that.

We put 20% down.

I put down $1000 for photography and video.

We had to put 20% down, then 60% is due the day of the wedding and the balance when the pics are done.

Sounds like it does vary. I put down $250 each on photo and video.

It differs from photographer to photographer, but $500 or 1/3 was the most common I saw.

ours only wanted $550 down for photography and videography then 80% has to be paid a week before the wedding and the rest has to be paid when we pick up our final pictures

Varies, for my $1,350 package, I'm putting $200 down.

Our photographer wanted $ 1,000 down. It really does depend on who you use.
