My wedding is 7 months away, and I think I may want to change my florist. We already put down a $300 deposit. If I choose to switch, can I get my deposit back? Thanks!!

Re: Deposit Question ?????
check your contract.. if there's nothing in there about it, then call them up and hopefully they will able to do something about it.

I agree - if it is not SPECIFICALLY WRITTEN that you CANNOT get your deposit back, BE PERSISTANT and you will.

Re: Deposit Question ?????
Sometimes it says if it's cancelled before 6 months you get your deposit back. Anything less, and it might be a portion. So I suggest that if you're going to cancel and switch, do it now while you're still over the 6 month mark.

Re: Deposit Question ?????
Check your contract. I heard that some wil not only keep your deposit but will hold you to a certain percentage of the order. Be careful.
Why are you changing florists? I just couldn't help but ask.

Re: Deposit Question ?????
Just because it says that doesn't mean you can't try and get your money back

Oh, I forgot. check and see if you ever signed it. My daughter recently realized she never ever put her signature on the dotted line.

Re: Deposit Question ?????
My mom signed it. The reason I was looking in to this is because we have a package deal for our wedding. The place offers different vendors for us to choose. Well, for a florist, they only had one listed. Turns out they actually had another one, but it just wasn't on my list. I would have liked the chance to look. I feel like the place we booked is kind of pricey and the other place might have given us more for our money. We are paying extra on top of the package. Oh well !!

Re: Deposit Question ?????
This is just a thought, but I would go ahead and see what I would get for my money at the other place. Try to get it all in writing. Then go to the place you booked and tell them how much more the other place would charge. Butter them up and say how good they are, and you chose them bec. of their reputation, yada yada...but is there any way they can close the gap and throw in a little more for your money? You know there are always stores that offer to meet the competitor's prices - maybe they'll do something to make you happy.
Good Luck.

Re: Deposit Question ?????
I agree w/LImom..... especially if they both house for your hall, they're already aware of each other as competitors..... I say play a bit of a game with them & see what they will offer to you.
