Depositing wedding gifts BEFORE the wedding

FH and I received some checks from guests who aren't able to attend the wedding. Originally we were going to wait until after the wedding to deposit the checks since they are gifts for our wedding; however, funds are pretty tight right now and we could really use the extra money. Is it okay to deposit wedding gift checks before the wedding, or should we wait until after the wedding??? TIA!!!

we deposited them when we got them... the thought to wait didnt even occur to me hahaha ops!!!

I actually HATE when people dont cash my checks right away. I think you're fine. Are you sending them a thank you before the wedding?

i would deposit it depending on the date of the check. if it is dated the day of the wedding i would wait. if not, deposit now!

We aren't going to get our wedding thank yous until after the wedding and we wanted to wait until we have our pictures so that we can put a pic of us on the wedding day in the card too. So I won't be sending out thank yous before the wedding.

I would deposit them now. I think it's actually easier for guests so their checkbooks don't get messed up.

I have a bunch of checks from my shwoer and a few from wedding responses and I intend to deposit them over the weekend

I think you should deposit it when you get them- I hate when people wait to deposit my checks. You forget about them, and then bam!

i agree with the others...deposit them i hate when i write checks and it takes people awhile to cash them

i always try to cash checks right away because those people are waiting for those checks to be cashed and it could mess up their checking accounts.
i deposited the checks as soon as we got them

I'm going to cash mine - I hate when people wait to cash my checks. It always goes through when i FINALLY forget about it

I would deposit but make sure you send the Thank You immediatly after!
