im going to the bridal expo at majestic gardens tonight. But were going to see the djs and photographers that i wanted to meet with. So my ? is if we find someone that we like what is the normal deposit for these vendors?

When we booked we left $200 with the DJ and $400 with photo/video.

The deposit for the dj was $250 and for our photographer it was $500. I went to one photographer that required a $1000 down payment and I was just like 'Woman, my hall didn't even ask that of me!'
From what I've seen, no one really required a deposit over $500

Our photographer wanted a 30% deposit but said he would hold the date until we brought the deposit in.

From my expereince so far the photographer and the florist have required the largest deposits. The video and DJ have a lower deposit requirement.

thanks everyone... i wanted to know just incase we fell in love with one of the vendors last night at the majestic gardens expo.
the only thing we really want to book from lastnight is get in tune DJ they were excellent!

If you can book before January, I would recommend doing it. Most prices go up with the new year and by booking in December you will get a better deal. Just something to think about...
