deposits

so a lot of you ladies have booked many things so far, & am i wondering how your deposits for florists, band, video & photo go. (did i forget any other big deposit requestors??)

my RH is 25% at sign of contract, 25% 6 months prior to date & 50% 2 weeks prior to date.

My deposit for my RH was $500 but we gave $1000 - they want half of the payment in total half way through and than the final half a week before.

My video and photog was $420 I have a few payments after that and the final payment is when we pick up proofs.

the deposits for our hall are a bit different...$1000 to hold the date, $1500 when you sign the contract, $2000 3 months later, $1000 3 months before, then balance three days before the wedding...
I believe that for other vendors they want 50% down to sign then the rest before the wedding...Not sure, but someone correct me if i am wrong...

RH: $1000 initial deposit. I then have $1500 payments every 6 months or so thereafter and the remainder is due a week prior to my wedding

Photographer/Videographer: $500 each (if i remember correctly). I would like to pay this off quicker but unfortunately he only takes the balance a month prior

DJ: $250 inital, can pay the rest whenever we want

Florist: We put down $400 cash on this, remainder i think is due closer to the wedding

Still havent booked limos though.

photog: 10% deposit. 10% a month later. 30% mid way thru. 40% before the wedding. 10% day of.

For the things I am paying for these were my deposits:

Photo: $500 at signing, then something 1 month prior and then rest when i get my proofs

Limos: 20% at signing, the rest two weeks prior

Florist: 1/4 at signing, then 1/4 in January, 1/4 in July and the rest 2 weeks prior

ours is:

RH was $1000 down....then they start sending us bills beginning feb 09 and every 3 months after that..balance is due few days prior

photo/video $500 each so $1,000. then 1/3rd due month prior to wedding and 1/3 due when we pick up proofs

limos $125
flowers was $250
dj was $500...both balance due month before wedding

RH - 1k to sign / we paid another 1k one month after - Next payment July of 2009

DJ - half! (approx 1900). - 1/2 due one month before the wedding.

Flowers - 1/4 (about 700) next payment 1/4 due March of 2009

DOC - 1/3 (325) next payment 1/3 due March of 2009.

My payment schedules are awesome with these vendors so far... I have no payments due until at the earliest March of 2009.

I think RH was $1,000 down...and then $3000 90 days later. And I forget the other payments. My Dad is paying for the RH (most of it).

Band was $550 at signing...and then $500 for the next 3 months. The rest is due at the wedding.

Photographer was $1000 at contract signing....then another chunk at wedding...and 25% left when we get the photos.
