Derailed

I read this book in 2 nights last week, and at first I was riveted - I could not believe that the author could actually conjure such thoughts (well, I guess I could, after reading Lovely Bones), but as the story unfolded, I totally felt the book took a turn and became a characture of itself - completely unbelievable and ridiculous.

What were everyone else's thoughts on this book?

Ohhh.., Im sorry you were dissapointed in the book. I have been meaning to read it. Now I will have second thoughts on it!!

Please, don't be discouraged by my opinion! If you read it, I'd LOVE to hear your thoughts about it.

ETA - and, as I said, I read the entire book in 2 nights, so it definitely pulled me in and made me compelled to finish it....if it were really bad, I would have thrown it aside and not bothered finishing

I was also very interested in the beginning..I couldn't believe the whole scenerios about the girl...but yes it did get overdone towards the end.
Esp. with the whole prison teacher thing...
I think leaving it a cliffhanger after the extortion/money stuff might have proved to be a better end.
