Dermatologist Recommendations

Can anyone recommend a dermatologist in the NYC area (midtown/downtown) or Northern Brooklyn? I think wedding planning and general life stress is taking a toll on my skin.

Thank you!

I just went to a new one last week. He's been in New York Magazine. I thought he was really nice. I have Oxford insurance, but I'm not sure what others he accepts.

Dr. Pat Wexler is a world renowned dermatologist in NYC. I saw her on Oprah last year and thought her segment was very helpful.

I go to her!!! In fact, I am going tomorrow! Actually, I use her associate Dr. Howe. Dr. Wexler only does certain things and she actually has a year waiting list. My mom and I love Dr. Howe. He has greatly improved our skin!!! He even sent me a wedding card.

Edited to warn: They don't take insurance though. But because of that, you can always get an appointment.

Thank you for the recommendations! I have Dr. Edelman on my list (from my insurance book), but it's good to have a recommendation for him.

If all else fails, I'll try Dr. Wexler's office, though I'm trying to save some $$$ at this point. I'll probably wind up paying for the medication myself anyway, since my prescription plan stinks.

Thanks again!

Dr. Doris Day (yes, real name) She's on 71st off of Lexington. Her # is 212-772-0740.

She's great. She just consulted on the Good Skin line that is being sold at Kohl's. I love the products.

If you are looking to cure acne, I probably would not spend my money on Dr. Wexler's office. Since you could get it much cheaper with your insurance plan. However, to treat scarring or to do anything cosmetic (botox, laser, restyline), I would highly recommend them. Insurance wouldn't cover any of those treatments anyway.
