Just went with my bff to go get her dress at a very cool place Bridalgarden.org in NYC (W 21ST B/W 5TH AND 6TH)
This place has designer gowns that were worn on the runway....they are A LOT cheaper...you just buy it and go (they do alterations or you can go elsewhere)..some of them need to be cleaned. They have all sizes as well not just runway sizes lol
It is a great option for girls who want a high quality dress at an afforable price.
My bff got a GORGEOUS dress there for more than half the original cost!
Good Luck

Re: Designer gowns for a lot less!
I was going to make a trip there. How much to the dresses range. Since it is designer sometimes even half off could be a fortune.

Did you say the most was $2000???
(Not what I consider 'affordable' so I was wondering if you meant to write 200??)

I think she means 'affordable' considering they are deisgner/runway gowns...those could be A LOT more than $2000

For some reason, I thought the store sold dresses that could be used as bridesmaids dresses which is why I was like, '$2000 for a BRIDESMAID DRESS IS AFFORDABLE? TO WHO???'
Now that I know we are talking about wedding gowns, yes, that makes complete sense.
Sorry!!!!!! Can you tell I am thinking about bridesmaid dresses a lot? (Going to look at some tonight)

Good luck dress shopping tonight!

Re: Designer gowns for a lot less!
I meant it is affordable for a wedding gown considering they are designer brands. lol..imagine asking your BMs to pay $2000 for a BM dress.....thats nuts!

Re: Designer gowns for a lot less!
Also by 2,000 I think she might mean sticker price. I think there is an additional discount from there....or at least I hope hah.

Re: Designer gowns for a lot less!
LOL Yes the highest sticker price I saw was around 2000...they take additional money off of it.
Some of the dresses are in perfect condition, some really need a good cleaning! Cleaning is prob costly....as are alterations...but the point of the place (which donates to an education charity) is to get a designer dress for a cheaper price. Its not for everyone some people would prefer a non designer dress that they can order and get brand new....these are worn in fashion shows and you buy off the rack...
HTH!

Re: Designer gowns for a lot less!
Thanks!!
I'm getting really nervous about my alterations, my dress looked pretty bad when I went for my last fitting. I added this website to my favorites just in case I need to rush to buy a back up dress after my fitting this Wednesday!
I doubt I'll need it, but this makes me feel a lot better
