has anyone ever heard of this chick?

long story short, she came to my wedding to take pics for free and has promised to send them for over 2 months and has given me an excuse every week (or every other) as to why I haven't received them. i know i can't expect much for free, but if you only saw the emails from her. lie after incredibley ridiculous lie.

i'll be posting them on our wedsite soon in case anyone wants a good laugh.

it was free because she is trying to build her wedding portfolio. i first heard from her on craigslist when i posted an ad looking for a creative & edgy photographer. she responded & offered to take pics for $600. i declined because all she sent me were three photos of her work which didnt give me any idea of what she was offering.

the following month, a b-t-b here posted this chick's craiglist ad offering free photography, so i thought, wth.

there is no other way i can get in touch with her other than that stinkin email address!!!! i dont even know her stinkin last name.

so, if anyone knows anything about this chick, PLEASE let me know. i would greatly appreciate it.

xoxo,
mrs. B

Re: [email protected]

so did you get the photos?

did you have another, more experienced photographer at the wedding?

Maybe she is just new to photography and looking for experience... if it was free, I don't see where the problem is...

Re: [email protected]

we did have two other people there taking photos. she showed the ones she took & i liked about 10 out of 1500, but she said i could have 120....so i'm waiting.....

thing is, out pf all the pics, she took the one i really i liked the most.

I'm gonna be totally honest here. Not that she is right and you are wrong, but you get more flies with honey....especially if she has a picture that you really want. You should also consider what you were like for your first weeks at your job. Wedding photography isn't something that you just get the hang of, it's an art. I would say be grateful that you had a 'real' photographer and continue to let this woman know that you are still interested in the pics as politely as possible.

totally agree with you....but now it's just ridiculous.

one week it was 'the printer is on jewish holiday' even after i reiterated more than a few times that i wasnt interested in prints, just put 'em on a cd.
which she initially agreed to.

another week later 'oh, i didn't know you wanted them on a cd' ....oh no she didnt.

the email saga shall be posted on our wedsite soon.

still trying so hard to be polite....

idk i don't think that you should...you dont know anything about this woman...she could be crazy....she could put your pics online...she could be going through a divorce or had a death in the family, etc.

Re: [email protected]

if it happened once, totally understandable.
twice, sure. three times, ok, she's got it tough. 4 times? suspision arises. 5th time? it's almost masochistic. 6th excuse & beyond - i had given up.....now it's just ridiculous, and i'm fed up.

i almost feel like she's conducting an expiriment on brides going wild for some free pics or something i can understand. at this point i just dont.

Re: [email protected]

no, i didnt. she sent me something to sign the day before the wedding, but we were already checked in to the hotel for the weekend. it wasn't even a realish contract in any sense of the word. her name is no where on there. nada, zilch, nothing. just a place for his & hers signatures allowing her free license on pics she takes & allowing her to take pics she 'deems necessary' ----i should a....

never heard of her. yikes, sounds super fishy but i guess legally you don't have an argument bc you didn't have any contract. unfortunately!

my sis would say 'you pay peanuts, you get monkey!' i love that saying. but seriously hope you get your pics tho and thankfully you had another photog!!

what the heck would be her reason for not getting the photos to you, after showing up and getting all those photos? weird.
