desperate need of help..re: Shower

My MOH is not being of any help to my mother who is trying to plan my shower.....so I need to get my mom a list of places in the city or in nassau for my shower...she has no idea where to start..and I don't blame her, she's never done this before!!! Anyhoo, she DOESN'T want a restaurant, she wants something different, and off beat...I gave her the choices of the Inn at Great Neck, Waterzooi in Garden City and Caffe on the Green in Bayside.....any other recommendations would be AMAZING...thanks!!!!!

Why dont you just contact some halls? I have been to showers at Russos, fox hollow etc.

I know my mom doesn't want a hall either, she was thinking of cooking classes, or a tea place, I know randella is doing hers at lady mendl's in the city....but I don't know how many these place can accomodate...

I know they have rehearsal dinners at I think its called Atlantique or something, its a...oh my gosh, complete brain block! THe place where fish, whales, sharks swim around in glass. What the heck is the name of it?????

Well I dont know about the tea but there is a small catering hall in Howard Beach a few blocks from Russos. Its called Roma View
They do a ' Brunch shower' and the list of foods is AMAZING!!! they give you like 28 different things buffet style and then pass mamosas, screwdrivers, bloody mary's, etc.

They have everything from bagels, bacon, eggs, pancakes, waffles, cereal, muffins, toast... Anything you can think of.

I know 1 800 flowers does a demo, instruction thing with centerpieces...then raffles off some after their 'shwo'

I wonder if someone from Michaels' would come in for a demo...

If not in your home, maybe you could use KofC or church hall or something like that?
