So I am sort of in a bind....I have to have Henna on my hands (both inside and out) when I get married. The ceremony takes place on Friday night, where I will be dressed very traditional. But my Reception is on a Saturday and I will be wearing a very modern white wedding dress.
The girls that have done this in the past usually wear white gloves so it hides the henna in pictures and whatever...but my dress is fit and flare and gloves would look horrible with it.
What do you girls think of having Henna on with a modern white wedding dress??
The links are not working... but I LOVE HENNA!! I think its so beautiful! I am doing henna with one of my best friends the night before her wedding... can't wait!

Its tradition so there is nothing you can do about it. I think it will look fine. If your super worried about it, is there a way to scrub it off?

I think henna is beautiful. I wouldn't cover it, I would rock it with pride.

I think it's lovely. If it's bothersome to you, which it sounds like, you can always have the photographer retouch it to remove it in some photos (though I hope you'd leave it in some).

I think it'll look great! Much better than white gloves.

Re: Desperately need some opinions
i've always thought henna was beautiful and traditions behind it are so nice that i think it will look equally beautiful with a traditional outfit and with a modern white gown

It's very pretty but if you arent comfortable with it, can u cover it with make up or have the photographer airbrush out what u think looks weird ???

Re: Desperately need some opinions
I think it's fine and a beautiful representation.
I had henna done on my hands before our wedding. I wore a white gown to the ceremony, changed into a lehnga for part of the reception, then back into the white gown toward the end of the reception.
I only did it on the palms of my hands - I'm white...and very, very pale at that - and when I have had it done on the backs of my hands, it just doesn't look nice at all. BUT I do think it looks beautiful on darker skin. And I think it would look lovely on you with a white gown. It'll be a really pretty representation of the eastern and western cultures.
