An idea for what to get Groom's parents. They don't go anywhere or do anything. The one or two things they are interested in, we've bought things for before and they've told us not to. They won't travel, see a show, go out to dinner...we're totally out of ideas for two extremely hard people to buy for. Any unique ideas for things you may have done or are going to do are appreciated!! TIA!

Do they like movies? How about a one year paid subscription to Netflix?

What about a 'night-in basket'? Get some really nice chocolates, wine, cheese, or other dinner/food plus a movie, game or books? You can put in a nice basket or something.

Re: Desperately trying to find...
Well i gave this to my future in laws for christmas. Hallmark sells these 'family tree' kits. It is basically a shadow box frame with a knit back with a design of a tree. They sell the miniature frams separately. I cut out pictures of the both of them and then made a family tree of his sister/husband/son/dog, and the two of us and our dog... a little corny, but she LOVED it. It's got a really nice personal touch! hope this helps!

We had the same problem but with both sets of parents...we knew that we were going to get them an 8x10 wedding shot so at the rehersal dinner we presented them with beautifully engraved picture frames and a gift cert to dinner (which they ended up using on us anyway).

I was going to suggest the same thing!

We were thinking about the frame idea, but they're giving us such a big wedding gift, we wanted to do something more that that. The exact same thing would happen if we got them a certificate for dinner--we'd go out and they'd use it on us. I already tried Netflix, but I think that if it involves using the internet, it's out.

I know this may sound a little strange, but what about like a fish tank or an easy pet to take care of.. Something that reaffirms their lives, as the two of you come together??

I wouldn't get to caught up on the cost..my parents are like that...they just keep giving and you try so hard to pay them back... Do something really sentimental that shows you put thought into it. You'll never be able to repay them...until you give them grandchildren!!!!!!!

Re: Desperately trying to find...
How about something they can use? Like a wine fridge if they drink wine, or a nice end table...........
For my mom's birthday we made a framed thing that said '60 Things We Love About You' (She turned 60). Then we had 2 lists- 'You' and 'You're'. Underneath 'You' were things like 'Always lend a helping hand', 'Are so caring', 'Make the best Apple Pie'. And under 'You're' were things like 'The best Mom', 'A great friend'...........Anyway, it was something that took time and thought and she LOVED it! If you want to do something like that (if you understand what I'm talking about ), I can show you what it looked like. You can come up with a smaller number relating to them so it's easier.
That's all I can thing of. Good Luck!

Re: Desperately trying to find...
there is a website where they get baby pictures and make them into bride and grooms, i am goi9ng to do that for my parents , maybe his parents, and us and we are going to give them to the parents at the RD. It is qutie expensive, but it is nice, and we might even give the same thing to the grandparents. if you want more info FM me and i will give you the website.
