Fi and I moved to FL last year, but we're having out wedding iN NYC b/c that's where all our friends and family still are . . . I'm flying up to NY for all wedding prep, my shower, etc - to tell you the truth, I have to fly up once or twice a month for the rest of the year in order to go to other people's weddings, showers and the like . . . it gets really expensive of course, so I was thinking of keeping my bachelorette party here in FL.
Do you think it's too much to ask the girls to fly down here for a weekend and get a hotel room and everything? I realize not everyone will be able to do it, and I wouldn't get upset with anyone for not being there. I just think I'd like this weekend to be in Miami - besides, for those who WOULD come they might apprecaite the hot weather since I'll probably do it in October - - - what do you think?
THANKS FOR YOUR HONESTY!

Re: Destinatiion Bachelorette party
I would call your close friends first and get their opinions? Are they up for the trip? If they are, by all means go for it!

I agree. Ask opinions first!

Re: Destinatiion Bachelorette party
I live in CA and my bachelorette party is a weekend being organized by my brother's wife who also lives here. It is mostly my California friends since my other friends have kids and can't make the trip. My sister and my FH sisters are flying in for it though and are really excited. Especially the one sister since she has two kids and will get a break for the weekend.
For those friends who are not making the trip( and I would never expect them too) we are going to go Bell Blvd one night before the wedding like we used to when we were young and single. I will be in NY two weeks before the wedding so this will probably happen the night of my shower.
I hope that helps!

Re: Destinatiion Bachelorette party
I just got back from a friend's bach party in South Beach - we had the best time!! I think its a great idea...and it's not like people have to fly down for your wedding a few weeks later...
I would just be conscious of the prices of hotels, restaurants, etc.. My only complaint about the trip was that we stayed at SUCH an expensive hotel that I had less $$ to spend on other things.

Re: Destinatiion Bachelorette party
My best friend had her bachelorette party in Miami & we had the best time. I think we each paid $300. But included in that price was her hotel & airfare as well. If you book through a travel agent she/he may be able to get a good deal if you have a nice size group.
