So I am new to the website!! I wanted to know if there was anyone else out there that are doing a 'destination' wedding.
My fiancee and I decided to get married in Rockport Massachusetts which is a 5 hour drive. I know this sounds terrible but we did this because we wanted a small wedding and thought this was the best way to do it. For those who really care about us will come/
Anyways, I wanted to hear from others who are doing the same. Any difficulties with the planning, invites etc?

I am not doing a destination wedding. however my sister had one last summer. Getting a wedding planner from the area you are having the wedding makes planning so much easier. My sister wanted a small wedding but 52 people came from the states and 40 people from Italy so you never know what to expect.

I am getting married in LI but I live in Maryland. It has been a bit hectic but I have planed everything myself. If you tell vendors you are far away they will most likely be willing to discuss pricing via phone. Also, I have had to be very organized. I went back to NY for a week over Christmas and I had an appointment everyday. A planer would probably make it easier but it is completely doable if you are organized and plan ahead
