Has anyone done this? I know this is a theme going around on the boards lately but I am trying to look into this more and was wondering how much it usually costs, compared to a traditional wedding on LI.

I was thinking of doing this but from what i've heard its much more involved and harder to coordinate so I decided against it.
I could never get some members of my family on a plane anyway lol

I don't have any details, but I know someone who had a destination wedding in cancun and ended up spending $40k anyway lol
I'm sure you could do I for much cheaper though

My sister did it last October. We went to the Rui in Mexico which is an all inclusive resort and had a blast. For the guests who stayed 6 days it was around $900 per person and that included air, hotel, food, and drinks.
It cost her around $3000-$5000 for the wedding and that included the license, officant, flowers, photographer, cake, champange toast, and dinner. She paid a little more to rent out their disco and dj to have a party afterwards.
People say that many people would not be able to go but you would be surprised. She had 52 guests.
