Hey All, I am finding this information out for my cousin who wants to get married in the Caribbean next March.
By any chance, is anyone on here having a Destination Wedding or has been a guest to a destination wedding? How much should the guest have to pay and what exactly do the guest have to pay for (ex. roundtrip flight and hotel stay). How does the bride and groom tell their guest that they have to pay for themselves? I'm just confused as to how the whole thing works.
Thanks in advance!

Hi
I went to a DW 2 years ago at BEaches Turks & Caicos. Typically for a DW the guests pay for all their own expenses. Flight; transfers; Hotel; Food/drinks (if not included). It's basically as if they're paying for a vacation. I think it's pretty much expected. If they can create a wedding website giving guests the information on the resort they've picked and how to go about booking...guests should get the point. The costs of the trip really depends on the destination; but i personally wouldn't want to pay more than $700-$800 for a 3-4 night stay. UNLESS i'm making this trip my ONE vacation for the whole year...
What the bride/groom does pay for is a wedding type reception. I know a lot of all inclusive offer free wedding (ceremony). It's still nice to pay for the private dinner or reception to thank your guests for coming so far.
Sometimes the b/g will host an event... i.e. pay for a snorkeling excursion for guests to thank them.
