Destination Weddings

FH and I are invited to a destination wedding in March 2012. We have never been to one before. So I was just curious..

Have any of you ladies been to one before? If so, where at?

Did you ladies ever consider a destination wedding for your selves?

The wedding we are invited to is in Punta Cana, DR. FH and I really want to go bcuz we've never experieced 1 before and would like to, another excuse to take a vaca lol and bcuz FH friend is really down bcuz so far only a few ppl have said they are going to the wedding.

With everything going on.. everyday bills, holidays, wedding, and my bday in Jan we arent sure if we can swing the trip right now

I want to go there for our honeymoon!!! TBD lol

I've never been to one, but I would love to have a dest. wedding. We have too many family members and they are all on LI (well 90%) so it doesnt work for us. Someone at work is going to her sister's and it seems to be a big pain! (the planning for her to go, etc)

I've been to one in the Bahamas...it was very nice.
FH and I were debating on doing a destination wedding for about two days and then decided that it's just not nice to ask people to spend that kind of money. It was kinda pricy and I wasn't really prepared to spend as much money as I did...I probably would not have went if I was engaged and saving money for my own wedding.
