Destination weddings YES or NO?????

Destination weddings YES or NO?????

Having issues with my inlaws about the wedding. I'm not even sure if they are going to contribute to the wedding at all. They are a very traditional family who believes the wedding cost should be the responsibility of the bride's family. With today's prices I don't want to have my father spend an obscene amount of money for our wedding, it wouldn't be fair.

So my question is are weddings in Mexico or the Caribbean really cheaper? I don't know what to do.

Theyre really not as cheap as you think... If you have JUST immediate family, maybe you'll save a few bucks, only because you're paying for say 10 people instead of 100 people...

But it really is expensive, research it further before making any decisions!!!

My friend is doing on at the Ritz Carlton in Jamaica this Nov.
Honestly, it is not much cheaper - Then again it is the Ritz.

I know from a guest point of view, it was a big expense. It all depends on how many people you expect to have and what you want included.

She booked it through Marcia @ Travel Solutions who is a LIW vendor. You can e-mail her and get some ideas, they did an amazing job putting it together for her.

Good Luck

Me and FH are planning a wedding at the Atlantis in the Bahamas. We are paying for ourselves, and immediate family and best friends to fly down and enjoy 4 days there. it's a total of 20 people. Witht that in mind, and us estimating between 50 - 100 people, it's half the cost pretty much of the wedding we started to plan up here. If we weren't paying for our families to go, then it would be have of that also.
