I thought it would be fun to start a thread where we all share the little but meaningful details we are going to do to make our wedding unique or different.
I'll give you some examples:

I saw a picture where all of the groomsmen had argyle socks on, the color of the bm dresses.. when they pulled their pant legs up, it made an amazing picture.

Or i know some people put lockets on their BOK of people who have passed away.

A good friend of mine had the words to her wedding song written on her cake, it was beautiful.

Or something cute at every table that has meaning to you and FH.

Another friend made each table the name of a place her and FH have been together, then each individual persons place card was on the bakc of a picture of the couple at that place!

There are so many awesome ideas and I would really like everyone to share some.. Thanks!!

We are making our own photo area with vintage props
I am using a dress form for my card holder
guests will sign a huge plate instead of a guest book
we will have party horns for guests instead of bubbles or flowers
we will have a doo-wop group perform at our ceremony and walk down to them singing
we r getting a trolley for transpo
we are having mixed food and music at the wedding to honor FHs heritage
we r doing favors for donations, as it is something important to us
with response cards we will be asking people what song they want to hear at the wedding
Really want to put our vows on the cake

The only thing I can think of so far that we are doing just for us is that we will have a normal cake for everyone, but a smaller cake for FH and I. We're not going to cut the cake, but dive in with two forks and have a ball.

Having the wedding on the beach as well was a big thing for us. It was very important to both of us that we do this. I grew up on LI, he spent a lot of time on the beaches of San Diego.

I'm not buying brand new wedding shoes....I guess I need a quick backstory for this....FH and I met in Vegas and the 2nd night we were there he asked me to go to dinner....so I wore a dress but my feet hurt from all the dancing I had done the night before so I wore flip flops...wellllll...they wouldn't let us in the restaurant with my flip flops so he took me to a shoe store in the hotel and bought me a new pair of heels....SOOOOO i am going to wear those as a cute/special little surprise

Cheesy I know but I think its cute hahaha!

Side note: Because we met in Vegas, our table numbers are going to be Las Vegas hotels!!! I'm going to print pictures of them and put them in a frame!

My FH and I are both Polish so at the reception we are doing the bread, wine, salt and silver coin tradition. This is what each stand for:

The bride and groom each taste a piece of bread to signify: 'MAY YOU NEVER GO HUNGRY'

They each sip a little wine to signify: 'ENJOY THE SWEETNESS IN LIFE'

They each place a spec of salt on their tounge to signify: 'MAY YOU OVERCOME THE BITTERNESS IN LIFE'

Silver Coin: They each hold the coin between their right hands together to signify: 'MAY YOU BE WEALTHY WITH GOOD HEALTH AND NEVER BE IN A FINANCIAL STRESS'

the night before my mom's wedding my great grandma (who is no longer here ) and my grandma sewed little blue bows on my mom's slip...my mom and grandma are going to take those bows and put them under my dress

we are adding lots of fall touches in certain areas

i may be using my great grandma's cameo on my bo-k

my grandma is giving me her garter to wear( she wore it at her wedding and has handed it down to all the women in the family)

we are doing a wish box instead of guest book to make it more personal...

fh and i have lost many important people to us...so we are having a special memorial table with candles in thier names..

there are more, its just not coming to me lol
