dh and dishes

why do they always leave them in the sink and not put them in the dish washer

I wanted to ask the exact same question last night

i can't take it anymore! my dish washer is right next to the sink... i just don't get it.
we are redoing the living room and when he needs the sink too clean his brushes off he takes HIS dishes from the day and leaves them on the counter mind you the dish washer is empty, i make sure of it every day in hopes that maybe just maybe he'll put it in there not what is wrong with them , sometimes you just want to strangle them

We don't have a dishwasher, but I am guilty of leaving stuff in the sink.

I am the slob in the relationship.

mine does it because his mother allowed him to do it at home!

Good question...I think it is in the male genes

Me too... Actually FH and I seam to take turns holding the title of slob.

sink??? what's that? according to my dh, the living room is just as good!

Not only does he throw them in the sink when the kitchen is perfectly clean and the dishwasher is 2 inches away and EMPTY.... he LEAVES FOOD ON THE PLATES and doesn't even spray some water on them!!

his dishes don't even make it to the living room half the time - they stay right in the bedroom on his nightstand, or on the computer desk!

i've learned a trick that stops it most of the time...when he leaves a dish or a wrapper lying around....I put it on his pillow in bed.....usually gets the message across

Sounds familiar at times.

Since he cooks I usually clean up unless I just got my nails done!

We have a dishwasher and sometimes he will actually put the dishes in the dishwasher but what really drives me nuts is when the dishwasher is open because I'm loading it & he just puts his dishes on the counter right above it or........I finished loading it & clean the sink & he then puts dishes in the sink
