My parents have great wallpaper in their dining room! Its so simple it honestly just looks like marble paint!
Next time I go over I will take a pic!

Are you thinking complete wallpaper or just a border?

lol, I would love all wallpaper or maybe panel half way up and wall paper on top. I think it looks great if done right. I will find examples..dh always says that when I pick these picks out of a magazine it is only 1 or 2 walls shown and it is too much when you are in the room. please hold for examples. lol

I am with your DH also. I will never put up wallpaper in my house. It took me way to long to take it down.

I have mixed feelings about wallpaper. I think there are times when it looks great, but what happens when you get tired of it? I can tell you from experience that removing wallpaper is a friggin' nightmare!!! I don't think I would ever put up wallpaper in my house unless it was a really small room, like a bathroom.

lol DH said no way to the bathroom, he thinks it gets too moist in there and wall paper won't hold up. He told me have a great time wallpapering closets. I know it is hard to get off, but if I have it up for 5 years isn't it worth it? we will probably move anyway, all hypothetical, not buying till next year.

If you're looking to do a fairly large room, I would say that 5 years may JUST be worth it. When we removed our wallpaper, we had to go back and recompound every single wall and then sand everything down even. Not only was it a time consuming PITA, but it also made a HUGE mess.

yeah DH is not a fan of the way it looks, and does not want to go through the removing process..thanks for the opinions

I also like wall paper in some instances. Sometimes paint in everyone gets boring! Maybe you can do a chair molding and only wallpaper half? We have this in our dining room and it looks pretty.

Good LUCK !
