Zink (in your picture) is a great restaurant. I work on the street he is taking pictures of (N. Tryon).

The house in the picture looked familiar also, was it in Brown's Ferry?

We thought we were going to have to move there for DH's job and everyone we spoke to told us that it's a great area but the public school system is terrible (even in the 'burbs) and most people send their kids to private school. Other than that his colleagues really like living there.

Most of the elementary schools are great, there is a lot of hullabaloo about the high schools where I live, but I still wouldn't say they are terrible.

Regardless, as a graduate of 15 years of Catholic schooling, my kids are going to private school (I just have to talk DH into that)

OMG!! me too. I am all for Catholic school, DH thinks it is crazy and is a public school advocate. But I think if we only have 2, he will budge and go for it.

DH was sooooo scared that Jim was going to do something nutty like knock on your door or something, then have to explain to your husband who he is.

Jim was so funny, he sends us floorplans. He had a problem finding one, then it comes in the mail 2 weeks later. He writes on it, 'Sometimes the blind chipmunk finds the acorn'

that is our new favorite saying

How old are you and DH

We are 26/27

staten island, grew up here, family moved down to FL, I met DH down there, my family hated it, but I was stuck in school down there so I stayed. DH wanted to buy a house down there, but I convinced him to give NY a whirl, DH hates it, so we were going back to FL when DH graduates, but prices out of control, so we started checking out Charlotte. whew!!
