Ugh. So I change my doctor like every month bc I hate them all. But I went to a new one yesterday, and they were freakin' awesome.

She asked me if I wanted to try out this sensor thing that tracks when my sugars are high or low so we can figure out a better dose for my insulin.

I tend to almost pass out everytime I get bloodwork, so I was very anxious all morning about it. She said I had to, which made me queezy thinking about it.

Then I agree to the sensor thing. Well. It's a huge needle they put in your stomach that you have to wear for 5 days. When they put it int, the one doc was like 'ohhhhh your color just changed real fast'

I was like, 'yeeeeeah, I'm gonna pass out..' LOL

So after I was okay, they were like 'Sooo, you wanna get bloodwork done?' I was like 'How about I come back next Wednesday and do it..I realy dont wanna pass out!

but this thing is annoying and everytime I touch or look at it I get sick. I don't know how people use the pump!

awww, that sucks! Are you sure you don't have a vaso vagal reflex too? My sister used to pass out every time she went to the doctor for shots, or bloodwork and also any time the dentist had to stick a needle in her, and she had vaso vagal. So scary!

But I hope everything works out so you can better regulate!! Sounds like you are on the right track

I've always been sensitive to bloodwork for some reason. I give myself shots all day so Idk what it is! hahaha

Oh, its nothing bad or a disease or anything, don't worry! Its basically some weird thing where a particular stimulus makes your vagus nerve act weird and make you faint! You can check it out:

haha phew! I probably do have that lol

FH did the sensor thing too, it was SO weird! (well, for me...he didn't seem to be bothered by it at all lol, I was afraid I was gonna bump into him and knock it out)

just FYI, they use the results from the sensor test to try and convince you to get the pump (or at least they did in FH's case) so if you don't want to get it have your arguements ready lol

PS. Do you have a pump? I used to hate the idea, but I have to say- I can't understand how I let myself go so long without getting one!

PPS. I totally understand about disliking most of the doc. I still haven't found one that I love. I do too much research on my own, and come into the appt. knowing too much and questioning every thing they want me to change. They are not fans of that!

I'm not on the pump, and to me, just the thought of it makes me sick hahaha. I don't mind the shots, and the sensor thing is really starting to bother me LOL. thankfully it's out tomorrow! I really don't think I'm ready for the pump now! The docs I have now are really good (but I've only been to one app lol) so we'll see! where do you go?

I'm in DC, and I have bounced between three in the 5.5 years that I've been here!

When I was a kid I went to North Shore (then Schneiders) and I loved them.

I thought I would HATE the pump, but it is so much easier. I honestly don't know how I did it before the pump!
