Are any of you ladies in disagreement with the FH about certain aspects of the wedding? Gary seems to be against my fruit theme. Butthen I ask him for ideas and he none and it's so frustrating. I think the fruit theme is cute and original. I think people would like it. He thinks it's stupid and costs too much. I don't know what to do.

Re: Diagreements with the FH?
do you absolutely have to have a theme? we didn't for our wedding and it made decisions a lot easier because we were able to choose whatever it was we wanted.
if you really want the fruit theme, but he doesn't, then he needs to come up with alternatives!

Re: Diagreements with the FH?
When I started the planning process, I asked FI his opinion on everything. Then I realized that I did not really care what his opinion was. I only wanted him to agree with me. So I stopped asking because he did not care about anything and it was slowing me down. FI only cared about two things: he did not want the wedding on a holiday weekend, and he wanted black tie optional and not just black tie.
This completely eliminates any potential for arguments.

Anything having to do with the wedding I ask his opinion on, if he doesn't like it, we/I find or do something we both like.
The only thing he didn't care about or want a say in was the flowers. But he did want to know I decided on.

Re: Diagreements with the FH?
I don't have to have a theme. I just thought it would add something special to the wedding to make it our own. Particulary since a lot of people who will be at our wedding were at Gary's cousin's wedding 2 weeks ago at the same location. I would like to add some distance between the two events.
What bothers me is that he doesn't like my ideas, but then he has none of his own about ANYTHING! I am doing all of the work for this wedding and I finally come up with an idea I love and just poo poos all over it.
