Does anyone know if the stores there are open on Saturdays? I need good places to go and look for weddings rings in the city other than your typical Zales and Whitehall and thought this might be the perfect place to go... thanks!

check out Philmar, they are a shop there... we got our rings, as did my brother, sister and a lot of my friends....

ummm alot of them are closed for the holidays.. i had to ask the person I deal with to stay open later for me.. alot of those stores close at 3pm or 4pm and close on the weekends..

Some of the stores are open on saturday, but not all...(my dad works there...he opens on saturdays). Sundays aren't necessarily better since the ones that are there saturday don't open on Sunday. If you could somehow go on a weekday, that would probably be best...

Usually not on Saturdays b/c they are hasidics (sp?) you should call first, or go down to Canal St and look there. My jeweler is Larry DiAngelo @ 75 Bowery.. this is a pic of my ring.

I'm not sure what their hours are... but with the Holiday you might be better off waiting for another time where they are guaranteed to be there.
For local places you could try The Commack Jewelery Exchange (the first booth on the left when you come in)... His name is Andy- great stuff.
Or you could go to Christian Bernard in the WW Mall. We got our bands there, they have a lay-away plan AND they have a stone security. For a SMALL amount (like 200 dollars) they guarantee that if you lose a stone they will replace it! So, that made me feel better about buying an eternity band. When I went in they were offering this program for free with the purchase of the band but I don't think they do that anymore. Ask for Jake- he'll help you, he was GREAT!

A lot of them are closed on Saturdays because the owners are Jewish. Call before you go--they might be open Sunday, though.
