Diamond District in NYC

Can anyone recommend places in the Diamond District in Manhattan for wedding bands?? Are they really much better deal than Zales or Fortunoff??

I recommend engagement rings direct. They do not have a storefront, it's by appointment only but they are in the diamond district. They also do custom work. Check out their website engagementringsdirect.com. They made my E-ring (pics in album)

i got my engagement ring at the diamond exchange on the bowery...Iris Stare (stare jewelers). FM me if you want her contact info.

I got mine for much cheaper than i would have paid retail. plus, i'm really picky about design so i wanted something unique, which wasn't happening at costco or fourtunoff.

But i do live/work in manhattan so it's not that inconvenient for me either but i do think its worth the trip.

You'll have many more selections to look at, the prices are better and the quality is great.

Kent Jewelers (212) 997-4047

He is on 47th street between 5th and 6th.... we got everything from him. His name is Nick (his father owns the company) and he helped DH design my E ring and helped us both pick out and design our wedding bands, and DH also got my my earrings that I wore on the big day there! I highly recommend them!!!

I got my ring from Mr. Diamond USA (sounds a little cheesy I know) in the Diamond District. They have beautiful rings and are very knowledgeable.

best to go to a no-name jeweler - not a chain store like zales or a department store. you can get a better deal somewhere else - just make sure you know what you are looking for and are educated on diamonds. also best to get a GIA certified diamond.

I agree. Some reputable places that will give you a much better deal are Good Old Gold on LI, and Excel Diamonds in the diamond district. Both have websites and do a lot of business with out of state buyers as well.

Make sure you get a GIA cert. You will get a much much better deal than a place like Zales, Kay Jewelers, dept stores, etc. Turkan Jewelers in Tri-County is also a good place to try but some of the other places up there arent nearly as good quality.

Edit:

dont know if Turkan has a website
