Diamond Loose UPDATE

Hi Ladies,

So the other day I posted how I thought my diamond was loose and if I should bring it to the jeweler...well thank god I listened to you all because I took it to the jeweler this morning and it was a little loose. The bad part is I have to leave it until THURSDAY! I cannot believe it should take that many days to fix something so simple. They said they need to send it out and that it might be ready before then, but I feel SO lost without and I'm nervous because it's my grandmother's diamond, but this is where my fiance ordered the ring from, so I'm sure its fine, just ***** that I have to wait that long.

On the flip side at least I realized there was an issue before it was too late, just wanted to vent, thanks for listening!!

I have to part with my ring for about 2 weeks so they can remaike or fix my setting and I keep putting it off because I know i will be lost with out it.

HOPEFULLY this week will go as fast as most weeks and before you know it- you will get it back.

Wait a sec! I thought you're not supposed to leave your diamond?!?! That happened to my center stone and I went right into the back WITH THE JEWELER and he fixed it right then and there.

ITA - too many 'diamond swaps' have happened like that. I never take my ER to a store where they dont have a jeweler that I can watch while he does my work. It's sad to say people cant be trusted, but it's happened more often than you think where you send in your ring to get fixed, cleaned etc.. and you pick it up & have a cubic zirconia instead of a diamond...just an fyi

I had this happen to me. I had to get the ring fixed and I was LOST without it. I ended up going to Claire's and buying a $6 fake engagement ring that I wore around until it was fixed, just so I didn't feel completely lost and people still knew I was engaged. If it's the jeweler your FH trusts then you should be ok. My jeweler when he fixed my ring let me look at the ring under his eye piece to show me that he matched the stones (one of my small diamonds actually fell out). Maybe you can ask to see it with their eye piece.

same here!! They fixed mine in like less than a minute.

I've had my diamond loose and they were able to tighten it right there on the spot. Then they cleaned it too!!

But 2 days.. that's not too bad. I feel your pain though. I was without mine for 3 WEEKS!!!! They had to take it to make a mold for my wedding band. They had to pop the diamond out and they gave me my diamond back... and no ring for 3 weeks!!! I had pre cana and a few other wedding related outings... and no ring! I missed it sooo much!! I literally JUST got it back this passed Sat afternoon!!!!

Oh no, now I'm all nervous again!! I thought it was strange too that they needed to send it for something so small, BUT this is a store my family has gone to for years, so I'm hoping it will be okay, UGH! :(

One of my diamonds fell out of my engagement ring and they just took the measurement of it and said he could fix it right in the store. Right in front of me. I am not letting my ring go anywhere lol. I'm alittle crazy about it tho. Good thing you noticed it before the diamond fell out because i didn't and i'm pretty upset with myself.

same here!! They fixed mine in like less than a minute.

The first place I went to said it would take a week and I asked why they said because they send it out. I asked where to and it happened to be Quick Fix Jewelry in the Queens Center Mall. I took it there and they fixed it right in front of me, no problem. It took about 15 minutes.
