Hi... I just looked at my engagement ring and it has some kind of line in it which wasn't there before. It looks like it's on the inside, like a crack. I looked at the surface, and it doesn't look like a scratch. Diamonds aren't suppose to do that are they??? I know my fiance didn't get the best grade diamond, we could never afford it, but no diamond should do that? Do you think it's not real??? HELP! I'm so upset. What should I do? Has anyone experienced this?

Diamond question...
Did you ever get it appraised??? we cannot tell if it is real just by the crack, I have never heard of that happening before tho' do you have a jeweler that you can take it to??? Take it there immediately, don't guestimate or assume, to ease your mind just take it in. I hope this helps

Maybe you can take it to a jeweler and have them look at it? I know someone who cracked hers, but she slammed it really hard on a wall (don`t ask!).
In any case, she had a jeweler repair it, since the crack was on the side of the diamond.

Definetely go to a jeweler... I pretty sure that if it was a fake it wouldnt crack but find out from the pros.

Definite get it appraised!
Diamonds shouldn't crack - maybe it's a refraction from the light.

Definite get it appraised!-for insurance, too!
You should get it insured for your own peace of mind anyway, and this requires an appraisal.
