Diamond Studs: Can Anyone help me with my impossible dream?

I desperately want a pair of diamond stud earrings...I have been wanting them for years.

Does anyone know where I can get diamond studs that are of good quality and are at least a carat, but not too expensive? (Am I in la-la land?)

Anyone buy diamond studs from Ebay?

HELP!

I bought a beautiful pair of CZ's I think they are 1 carat each. Everyone asks me if they are real. I think they were $40.

I have .56ctw studs in white gold and
I wear them every single day.

They're G color, VS2 stones (not too bad)
and they were $450 from my jeweler in the Bowery.

these are 2 ct TW - 1ct EACH EARRING for $40, they have the same ones in 1ctw for $30. They're set in 14K yellow or white gold - it's Diamonique

eta: it's hsn.com --- and they have princess cuts too! I'm going to order the princess ones - the ones I have are round!

not so sure about that (you're talking about the one by Macy's right?) - I looked around there and the best quote I got for my studs was $200 more than I paid - and the color was not as good. Be careful with them.

Commack Jewelry Exchange is great for gold (I've bought many gifts there, especially crosses), but I'm not very happy with their diamond prices.

What about the diamond district in Manhattan? I know there is the possibility of sketchiness - but my girlfriend does all her jewelry purchases there, and swears by the deals and the bargaining.

Mine are not even a carat, but I know if you want very good qualityand at least a carat, you should be paying over $1000.

I have a bezel set pendant that I ordered from QVC a couple of years ago that everyone thinks is real. Its set in white gold. It sounds silly but seriously look at QVC.com (diamonique). I know someone posted pics on here but in person they really look good (my pendant does at least). I think you can send stuff back if you don't like it. You can always get the fake ones now and then ask Fh for real ones a couple of years down the line when the wedding is all paid for!

I got my 1 carat studs at Tri County jewelry exchange. they are excellent quality! I did a LOT of shopping around before I bought them, just over a thousand $

Another suggestion is overstock.com. They have great prices too. although I personally would want to see them first.
