you can either buy a large plastic plate or use a paper plate - then use dental floss to attach everything and make sure you tie in the plate too - i love making these!

My sister used a plastic silver platter from Party City for the one she made my SIL.

my friend who makes them uses the cardboard cake bottoms. but you could use a pretty serving plate.
