I have asked everyone I know and tried almost every brand...
someone please tell me the secret to effective diapering OR the brand of diaper that Aidan will not soak through with every change! Especially at night, twice a night we need to do a complete pajama and underwear change because it leaked out the back or side!

Gosh, I finally feel like there is a chat question that I can provide valuable information to (hopefully). I have a girl AND a boy. 3yrs and 1.5 years respectively. I never had a diaper leak problem with my daughter and I used Pampers exclusively. However, with my son - totally different story. I find that going up a size helped but even MORE helpful was pointing the 'you know what' gently down in the diaper. I found that when he did soak through, it was all in the front over the top unlike my daughter. Here is to drier nights and LESS laundry for MOM!! GL

Kate- i use the pampers swadlers and Jillian does not leak at all... I change her when i feed her in the middle of the night she does not soak through at all....

I've tried the pointing down thing..., but to be honest once I let go to fasten diaper I really don't think 'it' stays pointed down!
ETA: plus- Aidan has such a FIT when changing him, its a whole ordeal. I'm lucky I can get it on at all!
I've tried the swaddlers too, I thought they would be the greatest, but it seems to happen no matter what diaper I use. We just stepped up from newborn to size 1-2. I have yet to try luvs tho'

I recommend LUVS, they are much cheaper and work better, IMHO, than the Pampers and Huggies.

Whenever Annalise leaked it was usually a few diapers in a row. That was my sign to move her up a size. Don't go by the weight on the box.

When Maiah was a newborn we tried pampers swaddlers and huggies. Every morning her bed was soaked. We switched to Luv's and NEVER had a leak! When she got a little older we switched to Huggies ultratrim and we've been using them ever since.
