Did any ...

Did any ...

of your bridemaids give you a hard time about the color dress they will wear? I picked out a pink dress and they all said that it was pretty even though they aren't big fans of pink. So they went to vist there dresses today and said wow there is a lot pink!! It made me feel bad. Am I wrong for feeling this way. I would wear any color , and any dress they would want me to wear if it was their wedding.

Yeah, my one BM CONSTANTLY makes fun of the dress (pink, as well) I get really upset. She also says the dress is very '80's'.

I would never do that to her..... but I guess thats how she is....

Sorry your bm's are being ike that!!

Don't sweat it-tell them to layoff next time they mention it. You can't make everyone happy, if you like the color that's all that matters-it's not like pink is an outlandish color. I love it.

That's just wrong. I was in a BP where on of the other BMs constantly complained about the dress too. I felt so bad for the bride, it takes away from your experience.

I wasnt picky about the color. AllI knew was that a dark jewel-tone was what I felt would look best. It was almost a ruby color. They all agreed on navy and I liked it. They couldnt complain - they chose the color and their dresses.

My BM dress is lilac, no where near pink, but one of my BM keeps insisting its bubble gum pink in the sunlight. I think she's nuts LOL

I originally wanted champagne or pale/pastel yellow BM dresses, but they were voted down. I was upset about it for awhile, but got over it. We ended up with wine which was nice, but I still felt bad I couldn't have the color I wanted.

ignore your bridal party about the pink comment you should get the color YOU want it is your wedding. im sure when there wedding comes around they will not think twice about picking the color they want.

if they didnt know that was one of the responcibilites in the bridal party to wear what the bride wants and shut up then she doesnt have to be in it right?

Some people can be rude and hurt feelings without realizing it....I think that if it is what you want them to wear, they should be happy to! My dresses are purple, so I felt the same way, but I ultimately went with what I liked!!! I would wear what they asked me, so why not go with what I liked.

Sorry...good luck!!

Ironically, my BM dress is your AVATAR in that EXACT color - Watters & Watters, chocolate brown, my Sister, who is MOH keeps complaining she doesn't look good in brown, and especially bad if she has a tan. She keeps telling me 'Well, I can't get too dark a tan this summer because I'll look terrible in the dress...' she's CRAZY!

No one complained about the color, which is raspberry. Most were happy about the color NOT being a pastel as they're mostly fair and would look washed out.

Now for complaints about STYLE, don't let me get started !

My matron of honor doesnt like the color and i was so annoyed about how she told me. I am also doing pink and she said that when she went to try on the dress the saleswoman felt so bad for her because pink really isnt her color!! (By the way i had to wear a Barney purple dress to her wedding and never said a word)

Omg, they were the worst regarding the color!! They all hated it...they were abusing me for picking out eggplant colored dresses which I thought were very pretty and looked great in the pictures.

Look, as long as you like the dresses that's all that counts it's your day don't worry about how anyone else feels.

Here are my girls in the dresses they hated:

I made a SINCERE effort to find something that everyone would love. I changed dresses 4 times and colors 2 times! My MOH complained this week that she doesn't like strapless dresses. I told her that she can add spaghetti straps, but she still complains that she likes the halter dress that she first tried on better! I was upset, because I didn't complain about dresses / colors when I was a BM! I guess different people have different opinions of what is 'ok' to say or not. As a friend, I wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings by complaining.

My girls really like the dress that we finally went with. But it took my MOH and I a few tries to find the dress. I had a dress that I loved and she hated, and she loved a dress that I just didn't like. Finally we found one we both liked and the other girls like it too.

My girls really like the dress I picked, but they also gave me a really hard time about the pink I chose, but you know what, it's my wedding and I love it, so tough. They can put me in puke green and ruffles for their weddings if they want - and you know what, when they do, I have the manners to keep my mouth shut about it and smile and say, whatever you want, you're the bride.
