My FH and I and my FSIL and FBIL and I are thinking of doing something similar.. just running away to Jamaica or something and getting married on the beach...
Im not sure if I feel like it would take away from it all, but both us us are getting married and are going to do it this summer, but were thinking of doing it together so family didnt have to fly down twice YKWIM?
Any suggestions?

My twin cousins did that (and no they didn't marry twins ). I really liked it! But you have to bw willing to share your special day!

I think hes making a mistake. I know he is unsure and is marrying her because shes pregnant and he thinks it the right thing to do. I just wish they would wait a while and think about it. Theyve only known each other since October.
Thats the reason it bothers me, so I think I answered my own question. Not a good idea

I wouldn't get married with them. It's ok, if you want them to be the one's standing there with you (maid of honor and best man), but you want your day to be special and only yours. Don't get me wrong, I'm having a destination wedding but I'd be darned if I would share it with someone else.......you're giving up so much already when you go away to get married. JMO

My DH and I, along with his sister and her DH had a double reception in NY. We had seperate ceremonies in our hometowns a few months prior.

my friend had a double wedding and it was a nightmare. half of the weddinbg party on her side walked out at the last minute because they couldnt take the girls from the other brides side so i was upgraded to maid of honor over night

sort of...... we got married in Vegas 2 weeks ago, but are having a party in the summer in VA with his family.
