DID ANYBODY HERE USE A LAWYER TO GET APPROVED FOR THE STAR PROGRAM?

my father told me to use a lawyer to get approved for the star program or reduce the taxes. is this necessary? the lawyer will take half of whatever we save. thats a lot of money

i dont think a lawyer is necessary--we just showed our proof of ownership and were all set

Maybe he meant to grieve your taxes...thats where they take 50% of what you save. The STAR program is just an application you fill out with proof of ownership for a house - no lawyer needed.

You just need to fill out a form for the STAR exemption.
