Did anyoione have a baby first?

I was jsut wondering if anyone had a baby first, and then had the big wedding.m I recently found out I was pregnant, and am torn on if I should have a shot gun wedding or not. I already have a date, place set for July 2005, and I am due July 2004. Does anyone have advice or waiting or getting married first? Thanks

Well...I had the baby, rushed the marriage, had a small family wedding to a $%#!, got divorced and am now having the Big Wedding to my high school sweetheart and the total LOVE OF MY LIFE!
but anyway,
My advice, think hard about what wedding you want because later if you don't do what you want you'll regret it. Basically, the baby will be loved by you both just as much if you are married or not so decide what is best for you.
And. - CONGRATS!! having a baby is the most amazing thing in the world, my little guy is already 2 1/2!

Well my baby is 4 now. I am NOT marrying her father. I am marrying the ONE. in Aug. Don't rush your wedding u guys love each other and so will the baby. You'll have it in july 04 and be back in shape for july 05. And by the way CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to the mommy club.

I just want to say congratulations. What a blessing :) I say wait and have the wedding of your dreams, focus on your child this year and marry next year :)

YEP! Our son was 21 months when we were married! He was our best man! We wouldn't of had it any other way!!!

focus on your blessing of the baby this year and the wedding next year! Two years in a row of excitement! Lucky you! Congrats!

when we got married, our beautiful Sofia was only 5 months old...we could've rushed and had a quickie wedding when we found out she was on her way, but we both wanted our 'dream' wedding, so we waited...and got exactly what we wanted - a beautiful healthy baby, then the perfect wedding with her in attendance!! ...you will be blessed with a beautiful child, and everything else will fall into place...God Bless!

I think its a wonderful thing.

I think you shouldn't rush the wedding. Have the baby, and than you have a year to plan a wonderful wedding that you always wanted, a wedding of your dreams. Otherwise, you may regret it, and than blame your child for it (or just have general bitterness). If in your family, marriage before baby is important, you can always get married (city hall, just sign the papers) but have the wedding later. That way, you are legally married, but the celebration (wedding) will take place as you already planned.
I think that is what I would do in any case.

I agree with May05Bride. It depends on what is important to you. If you feel that you need to be married before the baby is born, then probably a quickie City Hall wedding would be best. I don't think you should rush your dream wedding and be unhappy with how it turns out. Just don't worry about other people, they don't matter. Do whatever you feel in your heart is the right way.

My cousin had her dream wedding this past March and she already had 2 kids and is now on number 3. There is nothing wrong with seeing one of your dreams come true. Good luck with whatever you decide.

CONGRATULATIONS! It's interesting that you ask this question because I have thought about what I would do if this happened, and we always agreed that we would have the baby and wait to have the wedding. I think you should do whatever is in your heart. The baby will be loved no matter what, and when it comes down to it, that's ALL that matter! AND, what could be better than showing your child pictures of your wedding day and having him/her there!? Think how special that could be! Good Luck!
