Did anyone announce their engagement...

in the newspaper? I did- silly right? I just thought it was too darn cute.

FYI we will be in May 15ths Newsday- dont worry- i will send a reminder post

Not yet I want to wait for our engagment photos I think and wait for our 1 year mark..its not silly..can't wait to see your's

My fmil did it in our local paper last year. A lot of people in town saw us, and of course had to comment on it.

I look in the newsday every Sunday for the weddings and engagement section. I have seen a couple of people I know.

That's so funny you say that because my parents and I figured out this weekend what we're saying for Newsday.

I just asked my FH 5 minutes ago if his family wants input.

Not yet, my mom wants to announce it in Newsday relatively soon. But of course my FI and I have not had our engagement pics taken yet. So she wants the pics done ASAP so she can put it in Newsday. The to do list is just never ending!

We were in Newsday a few weeks past. One word of advice. You can get the regular box for 55 bucks or the large box for double price. Well, Newsday was mean to me and told me that it was the same text... but i actually could have included more and didn't know.

I'm happy with how it turned out but I had left off FH's mom because of space issues that I could have put back in.

We were in the citizen this past week and that is fun. We were all over in Jersey... we even had a hallmark store that FH and FMIL frequent send us a card.

When you do local papers watch out. The citizen made by FH a Jr. and his spelled my name wrong on top of the headline!

I waited for the engagement pic and you know what, I am glad I waited because I feel we look good and after five months of dating, it was nice to have that 'engagement' high that we had!

I really wanted to but for some unknown reason FI doesn't want to. I guess it isn't really necessary since we already sent them out to people we're inviting. We don't really have the $$ to spend, but I think I might splurge and do it anyway for our 1 year mark. He'll never know!!!

It's not silly.

We didn't only cause we didn't want to spend the extra cash and we're not ones to do something like that.
