Did anyone do or plans on doing a butterfly release?

Can you please post some pics and also can you release them all year round?

TIA

I'm not sure about the time of year but I've heard that they have to stay very cold until they are released and some og them die before you release them. so do your h.w. on them.
good luck

NO, the temperatures have to be warm or they will die after being released - also partly because they won't have food. When they are shipped, they are packed with ice packs to put them in a sleep state then when they warm up, the are ready to go. I'm going to find my link regarding my release for you

It was very fun and exciting to see them fly!!!

OK, here's my thread on our Butterfly Release

Thanks girls, you have both been most helpful...I don't think I am going to do it being I am getting married in November...it wouldn't be fair to the butterflies being they night die...I would feel terrible.

Thanks again

It did sound like a beautiful idea, but butterflies dying for the cause would make me sad. I'm glad you are considering their feelings!! It did sound nice though...

Yea, it does sound nice but I could never harm them...I feel terrible killing a fly, I just couldn't do it....it's not right.
