Did anyone else?

Have friends who weren't engaged yet be mean to you when it happend to you...

I am crying today bc my friend I care for is being so mean to me about my event!!!!!!

There are a lot of girls on this site that have had jealous friends say and do rude and/or mean things to them during their engagment. Some friendships are lost over stupid jealousy. WHat did your friend say or do to you?
I also think that sometimes we need to be senstive to some of our friends. I know that my brother's girlfriend (they have a child together and live together) is very, very sensitive about not being married (my brother is a jerk, what can I say) so I made sure that I didn't talk about the wedding all the time when she was around and I made sure to discuss things that she was interested in. So I think there needs to be a balance.

She said .. I don't want to hear how happy you are. I said you guys are just dating a year and he just got a job. She said RIGHT now I can't be happy for you and when I can be I will call you!

I dont care WHAT the circumstance are, there is NO reason to be mean.
I watched friends get engaged and married and was in their weddings, all while I was frustrated waiting for Len to pop the question. I was NEVER mean to them, and was happy for them, even though I wish it were also happennng to me. Now I have a friend or 2 who are also waiting . . . and they've been wonderful.
There is no need for mean behavior, nobody is asking her to jump up and down, but as a friend, she should at least be happy for YOU.
I am soooooo sorry this is happenning to you. My advice -- keep you head up and relish in your happiness, and try not to think about her reaction too much You're inlove, and getting married !!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!-
Either she'll come around, or it's better you know now what kind of a friend you have.

Sorry if I sound harsh towards her, but I hate when people are so darn selfish.

I am sorry to say this but this would not be a friend of mine if they said that to me! Friends are happy for friends even when their own life isn't perfect! That is pathetic that she can't look past her ownself and be happy for you, you do not need a friend like that, especially since you are in such a happy time in your life!

I am sorry that she did this to you. My advice is when she does get around to calling to tell you she's happy for you...hang up on her!!! You really don't need freinds like that. This is a very exciting time in your life and you don't people bringing you down.

What is going on here??? What the heck is HER PROBLEM??? I'll tell you, I'm with Lizlen, when I say I sat through 3 of my good friends get married and was in 3 of their weddings when I wasn't engaged yet. I was nothing but happy and excited for them. Yes it bothered me, but no way was I going to ruin this happy time for them... Now it is my turn. I'm sure some of my single friends may be a little jealous, it's only natural, but NOT ONE has given me any idea that they were! A real friend would not do this to someone! I am so sorry you have to deal with this!!! Forget her! Enjoy this time with you and Ronnie!

They werent out and out mean but you could tell in their demenor that they were upset. Dont let them upset you.

I'm sorry to say but she is not a true friend. I'm not saying she shouldn't be upset(for herself), if she is that's her issue BUT there is no way she should take it out on you when this should be the happiest time of your life. If she has issues she should put them aside...there is no reason to be MAD!! I have 2 girls in my BP that are going through breakups (one after 12 yrs, and one after 4) I know it hurts them to watch us plan our wedding but they NEVER show it, they are truly HAPPY FOR US...no matter how sad they fell.....that's what a friend truly is.

I have a friend (well ex-friend). I was friends with this girl for years..even lived in a house with her (and 2 others) for 3 years. She is the type that if you are happy (with a BF) she doesn't talk to you, AS SOON AS you break up she is there (even if it's been a LONG time since you've spoken to her). Well I've been engaged since June and haven't spoken to her ONCE....she STILL talks to my roommate though VERY OFTEN.

The only thing I can say is these people are sad. It's too bad that a friendship has to be ruined over your happiness but I can say for myself...I would NEVER feel about her the way I once did.

I actually feel bad for this girl because she will never be happy especially knowing she ruined a great friendship with you.

Everyone has their own time.. Each man has different finances... and planning..

I would never be jealous..

I would always be happy for my friend and wish her well and want to help..............

I haven't even told Ron yet. He has NO patience and tell me to tell her to Jump off the cliff!!!
