We narrowed it down to 2 places, we like both. The one we like the best is on a Sunday night at the end of November (which is fine but I originally wanted a Saturday night in September/October). Or we could have the other place on a Saturday night in the begining of November. We can't decide what is more important, the date or the place.
We really need to make a decision ASAP. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Did anyone else have a hard time choosing a RH?
We saw like a dozen RH's before we decided and it is a tough decision.
You have to figure out what is important to you--we definitely knew we wanted late August/early September, so if it didn't have a date in that time frame we ruled it out. We also took into account accessibility and the size and feel of the place--does it fit you and your FH's personalities and what you are looking for?

That is the only thing I have done so far and my big day is 8/25/07. That was an easy decision, love Glenn island harbour club!

IMO the difference between early and late november is minimal (especially since neither is when you REALLY wanted anyway) so I say pick the place you really love...

It started out tough but when we walked into the Crest Hollow we both knew it was the place. After we left we both said that as soon as we walked in there we saw us at our wedding.
Try this: Close your eyes and picture the 2 of you dancing your first dance on the dance floor by yourself. Where are you?
Good luck!

Go with your gut. If you pick the place that is your second choice are you going to regret it? Are there other positives/negatives associated with each place besides the date that may influence you?
When I was trying to decide we came down to 2. One I really loved, the other I liked a lot. The one I really loved ended up being nothing but a big PITA so we ended up at choice #2. Low and behold, we went to a wedding at choice #1 afterwards and were not overly impressed for what we would have been paying and #2 has been nothing but awesome to deal with.
So basically, weigh things out, see what works best for you and then go from there. Good luck!

Unless the date has significant meaning, such as an anniversary, I think the place would be more important.

Choose the place you love... unless the date is something very meaningful, a few weeks wont make a huge difference, but you will love your place and thats most important!

I personally think that the place is the more important of the two. You need to be happy with your surroundings and the service that you will get the day of your wedding.

Re: Did anyone else have a hard time choosing a RH?
having a wonderful setting for your wedding is more important than the time of day or day of the week. everyone will have a great time regardless if it's on a sunday or a saturday. they're there to have fun.
i was stuck between two places and what really helped me was making a list of what was important to me on my wedding day and i had my FH do the same. we talked about everything on our list and that's how we knew. we then made another appointment to each reception hall to check out places we may have missed the first time around. this was also a great opportunity to ask more questions.
going another time definitely helped us make our decision easier. plus, when they found out we were close to booking, both reception halls stepped up and offered incentives if we signed with them. for example, one lowered our minimum, the other lowered the price per head. so it doesn't hurt to go again...especially if you're going to get something extra out of it.
if all else fails, go with your instinct! a woman's intuition is never wrong.

I would go with the place that you love. I was torn between two places and after agonizing about it I went to both of them to see them and have a food tasting. After doing that I pretty much made up my mind where I was having it. Ultimately, I went with my heart.....Good luck!

Re: Did anyone else have a hard time choosing a RH?
I was in love with a place that I went and looked at with my parents- so when I brought FH out later that day to see it with me, the guy that was giving us the tour- barged into the 'picture room' (They have a room all set up with a fire place and all these dif photo opps) while a bride was taking her pictures!!! We couldn't even believe how rude that was!!!! He actually told us to walk in a look around- he was so intent on making a sale that he was ruining some poor brides pictures and clearly NOT making a sale with us by doing it! We were SO turned off that we left immediatly and booked another place that same weekend! One that we LOVE and can't wait to get married in!!

that is a great hall -- one of my best friend's got married there!! be sure to ask them to include the hot pretzles at the end of the night for your guests as they are leaving your wedding

We're stuck between 2 places too! Personally, I would choose the Saturday night wedding. We like to think of the wedding as one big party! So its important for us that our family and friends stay and party for as long as they can.
Good luck!

I say definatley pick the place you love. We were just recently making the decision between 2 RH's. In the end, we have decided to choose the one we both really loved. I thought to myself: I don't ever want to sit back and wonder if....
The place we have chosen: I will not sit back and wonder if...
