Did anyone ever think they chose the wrong person to be the maid of honor?
I posted a month ago about how my MOH was going to get her Masters in Australia and wouldn't be here for the bridal shower or bacholorette party. We can't have it before and she said she wouldn't be able to come till about a week before the wedding. I am very happy for her and that she is continuing her education and bettering her life, but at the sametime I dont feel like it is fair to everyone else especially one person inparticular. Sometimes I feel like I didn't make the right choice? Does that sound selfish?

I have a maid and a matron. My matron lives in FL and cant be here for a lot of stuff. She's missed a few things already, and yea it upsets me a little, but as long as she is standing next to me on my day that is what matters to me. I chose my matron because she is very special to me.
Because she cant be here to do a lot of things, I trust the rest of my bridal party to do things and work as a team in her absence.
I think even though she is away, have the rest of your party be more involved. Give them more responsibilities and have trust in them.
Dont worry everything will work out

Unfortunately these things happen..if she played a huge part in your life and you want her to have that honor, that's up to you. Did she still want to be MOH when you asked her? (I remember a lot of us suggested talking to her about it and asking her if she still wanted the responsibility)......my MOH is my sister and she's a little clueless about what to do since I'm the oldest....but she's got help. I have two BM that are out of town.....I don't think you're being selfish in wanting what you want, it's what every girl wants as a bride. Don't feel guilty...just talk to her about it

OMG your story sounds like mine...I went through the same thing. My MOH just left for Australia and wont return until 2 weeks before my wedding. I was so upset about the dress and when she would have it altered and the shower and bachelorette party...but i realized all the reasons why I want her as my MOH and how much I love her and want her standing by my side when I get married.
So it stinks but I wouldnt change it and my BM's only 3 and one is in Med school in Boston are totally happy to compensate for the absence...we already spoke about it.
Good luck and FM if you want to talk about it...i really do know how you feel.
