Did anyone get a check(s) at the wedding and it bounced?

I got 1 and DH was a little annoyed cause we got hit with the $10 bank fee. He wants me to call and let them know. It was for $100 so I feel badly because I mean if someone doesnt even have $100 in their bank account that must mean they're having hard times, no? It was one of my BM's and she came alone because she had just broken up with her boyfriend a few months ago and he moved out so now she has to pay all the bills and rent alone. Should I call her and say something or just leave it alone? How did you girls handle it?

Honestly? She will know. Her bank will notify her as well.

To be honest with you, since you know the circumstances of her life and that times are a little tough for her right now, I wouldn't say anything to her.

I know it ***** and the $10 fee *****, but I'd keep my mouth shut.

I agree completely! It was nice of her to still be involved in the wedding if she was having $$ issues too, and I'm sure it was more important to you for her to still be involved in your wedding.

My best friend did and the people that bounced were like oh well sorry!....so she gave the same exact check back to them at their wedding! long story but if you know she is tight on money i wouldnt say anything!

a bounced check doesn't necessarily mean that money is tight. it could mean - no offense to your friend or you - that they are disorganized with money. i had a fairly well off friend write me a $25 check for something once that bounced.

I also wouldn't say anything. IMO, that's really awkward...for both of you. Your friend will be notified that her check bounced by her bank. If I were you, I'd follow her lead on this one.

I would let it ride. It's more important that she was there.

If you know she's tight on money, i wouldnt say anything...but if you are going off just because there wasnt $100 in her checking account, you might be wrong. I dont keep any $$ in my checking account - i pay all my bills the day i get paid, take the money out I need for the two weeks, and transfer everything to my savings account.

she will find out she bounced a check when she gets her statement, so i would wait until she says something.
