Did anyone get a delayed 'this is the dress' feeling?
So I hear that when people try on their wedding dress they get the 'this is the one' feeling. Yesterday I didn't really get it while trying them on, but later that night thinking about it, I had the feeling. (Maggie Lavina Royale)
I think I was kind of overwhelmed as it was my first dress shopping experience, and I went in with the mindset that I wanted a different dress,(Maggie Victoriana) but trying it on, it wasn't quite as spectacular as I thought (on me, I still love this dress!).
I'm going to try it on again next week. Did anyone else get a delayed reaction? Lol

I def got a delayed reaction! LOL. I agree with you that it can be overwhelming but it was also becoming very frustrating. Many of the shops I went to did not allow me to take pictures and it's hard to compare mental images. Just take your time and revisit. Try on the dress another 2 or 3 times if that's what it takes. You'll know when it's the right dress Good Luck!

I didnt get that 'feeling' nor did I cry. I tried on soo many dresses and sometimes I thought I found the one but, when I got home and looked at it on the computer I questioned myself. So I went back to try on the few dresses that I thought were the 'one' and didnt get that feeling. With Victoriana the lady at the shop happened to pull it out for me and I always remembered the dress when I went to try on others. I went back to try it on and I knew that it was the one. Its hard for me to make a decision so I tried on a few that I want to see on and I made my decision that my dress was the one. Sorry so long but had to tell my story

yea, I tried on Lavina Royale first and it didn't look like much on the hanger to me, I was just doing it for fun, but when I had it on I was like, WOW!!!!
and then I tried on victoriana, which I felt didn't have the same effect on me in my eyes, but then the bridal shop ladies were telling me they all liked that one better on me so then I think it was messing with my head, lol.
I can't wait to go try on Lavina again .... I can't wait to show my mom! (she wasn't with me yesterday) After sleeping on it I really think that's the one .

I sure did. I don't know that I ever had the 'fireworks' reaction but my dress was the one I kept thinking about, after each session of trying on dresses. That's how I knew.

i definitely didn't get that 'feeling' nor do I think I have the feeling now. I only went seriously looking one day and we ordered it the next day. i think my mom got the 'feeling' for me. She kind of decided it- dont get me wrong, the dress looks great on me- but I always thought I would have a bigger skirt and more elaborate detail on the top of my dress. I went with the less is more factor since I am a larger bride. i think when i have my fitting I will feel different (hopefully)

Totally agree, same thing with me.
I don't think everyone gets that feeling right away and its funny you should post this because I was starting to think something was wrong with me!! There is a certain dress that I tried on and can't stop thinking about so I think I've already made my decision, but I'm still going to look at others. I think if you keep thinking about it days after its the one!! Good luck.

I am having the same experience! I went dress shopping yesterday and I tried on sooo many dresses but there is one that stands out...I think it may be the one but I am going to try in a few more.

The same thing happened with me. I went and tried on sooo many dresses and in the end there was only 1 that I was so so about. I'm going to try another place that has more selection. I think I know what I want and they just didn't have it. I have time so I guess I'll keep looking.

I didn't even want to try on 'the one' when the salesperson showed it to me - I was like, Naaa, that's not really what I'm looking for! HA! After that, every other dress just paled in comparison. I kept thinking about how I felt in 'the one' and I ended up purchasing it two days later!

I knew it was the one, but I didn't want to rush into it and regret it later, so I waited a week, came back and showed my MOH and Mom, and we all agreed it was the one.

i actually was set on buying a dress even though i didnt have the feeling with it. my mom wasnt happy with it so we went to one last store to try on dresses. as soon as i was in the changing room with my dress i had the feeling... but as soon as I put it on I just knew.

I also had a 'delayed reaction'. I tried on more than 30 dresses in total, liking a lot of them but not really falling in love with any. Then I tried on one tthat wasn't really what I thought I was looking for but I just kept thinking about. I went back to the store 4 times to try it on for different people until I finally felt like it was the one. I was really upset for a while too ... feeling like 'what is wrong with me? Why aren't I having that 'aha' moment?' But it eventually came and now I can't wait for the darn thing to come in!!!
