Did anyone get stuck in the GRIDLOCK traffic today??

A car hit and killed a person who was eitehr walking on the side of the raod, or corssing the highway, not sure which...but they closed down the highway, it was right as you enter Southampton, by the Texaco station. Traffic was totally gridlocked, no moving ANYWHERE< all the way though southampton main streeet, etc....was a humongous mess..it was clsoed from about 5 till 8 or so....

What makes it even more scary, since there is 1 way in and 1 way out, what if there was need for a massive evacuation, etc? We would be stuck. Creepy

Traffic was insane in Nassau too - it took us forever to go from Bayside to Massapequa

Holly.. my girlfriend and I were talking about that this am. How we would basically be stuck out here if there ever was an emergency.
My sister was trying to get home from work at 4 and she arrived at 7:30 (usully a fifteen minute ride). She was pretty much in park the whole time. She stopped and got food....HAHA!!! My girlfiend and I figured hawkin it to the SI ferry might be the quickest way out (IMAGINE THAT!!!!)

I always tell DH if we stayed on LI we would need to buy a boat....just for that reason.
