Did anyone get stuff from their registry as wedding gifts?
I added some stuff to my registry b/c most of it was gone after my shower. But now I'm wondering do people even buy wedding gifts? I always give cash, except when I can't attend.

Definitely! My daughter got so many more of her glasses and crystal she had to return a lot.

I received a few things from my registry from people that could not attend the wedding. They sent a gift instead. But at the wedding itself I got all money. Leave it on there, you may get gifts from people that don't attend and if someone doesn't want to give money they will have another option and get you something you want!!

I got stuff delievered from my registry -- but there are things that have been purchased and I haven't received so I am kind of scared that poeple will actually bring them to the wedding!

it depends.. my fh is from the south and they consider it RUDE to give money as a gift!! I say please give me money... I am broke. But I don't expect any money from them. FH once gave someone a toaster as a gift I guess that was ok because weddings are super cheap down there! They are appalled at what his Yankee girl is doing for the wedding!!!! They think I am showing off!

All that's left on my registry is a cake stand, a muffin pan, china protectors & 8 place settigns of faltware. They cost $45 each, so I figue the 1 or 2 people who don't believe in giving $ can buy some of them if they want. I'm not going to add anything.
I doubt anyone will give us china protectors and a muffin tin as a wedding present. So I guess I will buy those later.

Yeah, it totally depends on the people. One of my best friends from HS gave us monogrammed sheets (+ a PB gift card) off our registry because she felt it was too impersonal to give a friend of 20+ years money.
And I just went to a wedding where I gave off the registry because the guy just came to my wedding (solo) and was overly generous (but he has $$$$) and I knew I could not DOUBLE what he gave, so I got their bedding set off their registry which cost somewhere in between what he gave us & double.
ETA: Both were sent to the house.
I did receive a few actual gifts at the wedding.

I agree that it depends on who is coming to your wedding. FH is from Michigan, so most of his guests are from the Midwest, where people do NOT give money at weddings. We will get physical gifts from pretty much all of his people, so we will definitely need to have stuff on the registry after the shower. And, for people from other states, a toaster is not a strange wedding gift! My sister just got married to a guy from Chicago, and the groom's brother (and best man!) gave them a dustbuster.

I think it totally depends but quite a few people (mostly co-workers and all were NY'ers) of DH's and mine ordered our wedding gifts from what was left from our registry and some even mentioned how they were surprised that there wasn't much on there (I got most of my registry at the shower).

i had my shower in july and my wedding is this saturday. i just checked the fortunoff website and more stuff is missing, stuff i didn't get for the shower. so i guess i'll get gifts for the wedding. i hope it gets shipped to my house, i'd hate to carry a vaccuum home from the hall
