Did anyone get this dress:

I love this dress - I've had a picture up by my desk for a long time now. I went to try it on today and love it even more but the woman helping me mentioned the sleeves might make me too hot for my mid-September wedding and they might constrict my dancing.

Help - I value your advice and opinions!

i didnt see this dress or try it on anywhere..but she may eb right about being hot....more so than constricting dancing......my wed is in nov and i was told that strapless or light straps are good eyar round because it gets hot inside with everyone dancing...but i think its really nice

Check on our 2004 board.. we have a thread with all the 2004 brides gowns.
Im wearing Demetrios as well!

I have sleeves similar but MUCH shorter..
They said the same to me.. I tried it on and unless I want to do the PERFECT YMCA I really didnt see it as a problem. Here's my gown.

I know the sleeves would be restictive but the seamstress says she adds a piece in the sleeves to make them easier to move with.

OMG! NYCHICK! You are the perfect person to help me - you're getting married in September and this is your dress!!!! Yay!

So tell me - how do you feel about the whole being too hot with the sleeves comment? Do you really think that you'll be too hot?

Also - can you tell me more about your seamstresses suggestion to add more fabric?

girl I would rather PASS OUT in this dress rather than not wear it.........

I LOVE IT I have been watching this dress for 2 WHOLE YEARS. I tried on four dresses so that no one could say I was being impulsive...lol........but I put it on and that was amazing. There is no way I could get married in anything other than this dress, It is gorgeous. I HATE BUSTLES but I also wanted a big train, the detachable train is fabulous....OMG I LOVE THIS DRESS, it has everything I want. My hall will be fine. I don't think the heat will be disastrous. Almost everything is going to be indoors. If you ask me any dress you wear will be hot, with that crinoline and stockings and all that.

ps - does it show that I am excited about this dress. I am thinking I am being teribly calm

NOvember122003 also had this dress and her seamstress had to add extra to the sleeves to make them less resticting. You can take a look at the proofs on her review on the review board. She got hers in ivory.

Thanks so much I just sent her an FM. Looking at her beautiful proofs made me fall in love with the dress all over again. You know what - who cares if I can't throw my arms up over my head - probably wouldn't anyway. As long as I can dance with my husband I'll be happy.

Where are you planning to get the dress from? I am sure all the seamstresses know the sleeve style can be a bit of a pain the butt, just make sure you remind them.

That's a beautiful dress. My wedding is in October and I wanted sleeves, but thought I'd be too hot, so I got a dress with Illusion sleeves. I am also wearing demetrios.

I'm wearing DEMETRIOS also! HEre it is!! They are sheer sleeves, I thought about how it might be a little restrictive, but I'd rather the sleeves. I LOVE that dress! GET IT if you want it!!

That is a such a beautiful dress! Mine is Demetrios as well. I am also having a removable train, which I am thrilled about!
Definitely get that dress and have a seamstress work on the sleeves. I actually tried on that dress in Lestan's in Brooklyn and liked it alot. Can't remember why I didn't get it?????
Oh well!
