Re: Did anyone go to France for their HM??
so, we were debating it.... We decided on greek islands becuase I wanted to go somewhere I've never been....
I would recommend a balance between city and countryside.... maybe 5 days in paris (see the sites and museums, and have several cafe visits (YUM!!!)... Then maybe cruise down the seine for several days, visit burgandy, normandy, or the south.... The french villages and vineyards are gorgeous....

I'm not going for my HM but have been to Paris twice.
It's a beautiful romantic city with the BEST shopping. There are tons of cute little cafes and some of the best sightseeing in the world.
The Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Versaille, Pompidou, Sacre Couer come to mind.
You'll love it.

We are stopping off in Paris on the way to Italy.
I would stay near the Louvre or the Arch.

Re: Did anyone go to France for their HM??
Thanks ladies!! We'll see what my travel agent comes up with! She came up with a great itinerary for us for Italy, but the flight is twice as much to Italy than it is to France so it killed our budget. I've never had an itch to go to France, but I'm starting to now! Our agent is going to do city, country and coast for us, like she did for us in Italy... then we'll decided.

Re: Did anyone go to France for their HM??
If you want to include Paris. You need a good 3 days to do it. And that's just selecting the basic.
Paris must do:
- Eiffel Tower - Trocadero - Champ Elysee (avenue between L'Arc de Triomphe and Le Louvre). - Notre Dame Cathedrale - Sacre Coeur
If you like Museums: - Le Louvre (count at least 1/2 day or more): it's huge - Quai D'orsay (impressionist painters)
Other sites: - Versailles Castle (South West of Paris): full day - river tour (Paris is divided in half by a river) - Wax museum - Catacombes (old underground graveward). Kind of give you the creep after a while. FYI, they will check your bag at the end of the visit to make sure you did not steal a bone. No kidding!!! - Moulin Rouge (it's a review with French Can-can): located in VERY VERY BAD area of Paris. Make sure you take a taxi if you want to go.
Plenty more to do....

Re: Did anyone go to France for their HM??
We are planning to go to Paris as well. I have sooooooooooooo many questions
Our wedding is June 24, so will it make sense to go right after the wedding or wait till Sep, when it is not so hot in there???? Prices are much more affordable in Sep, but I want to go right after the wedding
We were also going to go to Cannes, but I have heard so many bad reviews about it. Hm..... Ppl say it will be crowded there in July/Aug with a lot of tourists, etc.
