I almost screamed from freight when I looked in the mirror at Maximus. I looked like an albino with eyeliner on and bright red lips that looked like glass. Then I had another makeup trial the same day somewhere else. I told her about my first trial and she didn't make me look too much better. What is with the nude eyeshadow that makes you look like you have no makeup on and what is with the eyeliner on the top lids?? didn't that to out in the 70s? I think I am just going to buy some quality makeup and do it myself. Why pay $100 for someone to put on makeup when I can do the same thing? Did anyone else have this problem?

Re: did anyone hate their make up trial?????
I wasn't to happy with the first person I went too, but the second I absolutely LOVED and booked her on the spot.
Keep trying, have you tried any of the vendors on here?

Re: did anyone hate their make up trial?????
I can do my makeup when I go to other weddings but I wanted to make sure my makeup was perfect and that I had enough or not too much. I went to Jacqueline Nicole and booked her on the spot. I had my foundation makeup air brushed on and it was so worth the money I paid. She is amazing!!! She is also a vendor on here.

Re: did anyone hate their make up trial?????
I hear you. I cried when i saw my makeup. I had airbrushing which showed every fine line and still showed every pimple and every little bit of redness too. It covers nothing and made me look 80 instead of 29!! The person i went to used fuschia eye shadow and gray liner on the top lid. It was horrible. It was not only messy but it was uneven - one eye was so different from the other. I asked for a pale lip and I got DARk brown with liner way outside my lip line.
Ugh - it was so incredibly bad. I felt like a 5 year old was playing. I think they would have done a better job.
I will probably do it myself too sine I can't seem to find anyone else who isn't booked

Re: did anyone hate their make up trial?????
Me too! When I went t o my make up trial last sat she made me look like a clown. Eyeliner on the top and really pink lipstick. There was no way I am gonna pay $150 to look like that at my wedding. I have another Trial on Tuesday night with Dina from Beautiful Possiblities! Anyone ever try her shes a vendor on here? Any feedback would be great!

Re: did anyone hate their make up trial?????
i have yet to have a trial, and honestly, i don't think i will...
i have ALWAYS HATED getting my makeup done in other weddings by 'professionals'. i have repeatedly wiped everything off and reapplied while walking out the door.
i also refuse to pay the exorbitant trial prices. i am not going to throw away a few hundred dollars to be made up like a clown or hooker. as of now i will be taking care of my own makeup. i will experiment a bit, but really my goal is to look as natural as possible, i want to recognize myself in pictures...

Re: did anyone hate their make up trial?????
Try Wendy from Princess Brides - I loved her and hated most of the other makeup jobs I had done.
In fact, I sent Mom pictures of the makeup trials, and after each one she'd say 'You know Sam (one of the BMs) has always done beautiful work on you.' But when I sent her pictures of my good trial she said 'NOW we're talking.'
The quality of the pictures themselves aren't very good - but there are better pictures out there, that EVERYONE to which I show them comments about how great I look. One woman even said, OMG Rachel you should be a model.
I'm a little vain about them, actually (We didn't get that from your post, Rachel, not at all).
Keep looking, talk to some of the girls on this site. Worse comes to worse, go to your favorite makeup counter in the dept. store and have a professional help you. That's what my Matron OH did - she just got her wedding album back and loved all the pictures so much she was crying! *Note - this is exceptional because she NEVER likes how she looks.

Re: did anyone hate their make up trial?????
My first trial was awful!! This person came highly recommended and she was so bad. The colors she used on me did not even go with my coloring. A waste of money Then last night I went for another trial and it came out perfect. I didn't look like a zombie and it was not overdone. I am so happy now. I know it is expensive to go to trials but keep going until you are happy. Makeup is a very important thing. It can make or break you. JMO

Re: did anyone hate their make up trial?????
Yup, I had two with two diff. people. I felt like a clown. So, I went to the MAC counter and had someone teach me how to do it myself, with colors I liked but that fit my skin tone. For some things I used my own-because I trust it not to run or change due to skin chemistry (I used my own foundation and water proof mascara).

Re: did anyone hate their make up trial?????
I went in with very specific directions - none of this color or that color, none of this on my eyes, etc. I think because of that I got what I wanted and I'm happy.

Re: did anyone hate their make up trial?????
I did not like the first two makeup trials that I went to...even after telling them what I wanted, they went ahead and did what they wanted...but on the third trial I found someone who actually listened to me and I love the way my makeup came out...her name is Lorraine from The Romantic Hair Studio. Don't give up on makeup artists yet, try a few more and then decide...Good luck!

Re: did anyone hate their make up trial?????
I wasn't that pleased with either of mine and my FI said that I looked a two dollar you know what! I am going to reschedule a trial with the second artist and bring some pictures with me so she can get an idea of what I am looking for. I understand your frustation.
